"I met Michael and his wife while they were working on a site on St George Island.

I needed a lot filled and walked over to talk to them. Michael immediately jumped off his machine and walked with me to the lot. He said, he would have me a quote in a couple days. He did have a reasonable quote in 2 days and said he could start the next week. I gave him a deposit and he completed filling the lot the following Thursday, sending pictures of his work.

I then realized it would be 3-4 weeks before I could have concrete poured and I was concerned the fill could wash away.

I called Michael, asking if he could add a liner and gravel to the side slope to prevent wash out. This wasn’t planned until the building was erected (3-6 months out). Michael did add the liner and gravel that weekend. He also built a toe wall of treated lumber to hold the gravel up. He did this work in THE RAIN?

The following week, Michael went above and beyond. He went back to the site and covered the entire pad area with reinforced visqueen and sandbags. He texted me, after the fact and sent a photo, saying he didn’t want me to lose what I had invested. He also said, it would be on him.

I was extremely pleased with his creative approach to preventing erosion, as I was worrying up in Michigan. I thanked him and told him to send me an invoice for the additional work.

I’m looking forward to Bailey Excavating, coming back out, after the building is complete to add the liner and gravel around the entire building. Making the lot maintenance free.
